If you are a Glader, you would know that Dylan O' Brian, the actor who portrays Thomas in the Maze Runner adaptations onto the big silver screen, was severely injured. And to this day he is still recovering from some sort of freak accident, not much has been revealed other than the fact that Dylan was injured and production on the final Maze Runner film has been delayed. James Dashner stated that the movie has not been canceled, but if you're making a film and you haven't even finished production and the film comes out in less than 10 months, you cannot finish the movie in time with superior quality. It's very simple, it cannot be done. And there appears to be no break to O'Brien's recovery so production can start up. This all points to one fact, the film is going to be delayed.

It is quite simple, there is no other outcome, it will be delayed. Perhaps, it won't be delayed so far back, such as 2018, but we can expect a few months of delay. I believe the film will actually be pushed back to September around the time, Scorch Trials and the Maze Runner both came out. It could also possibly release sometime during the summer, but since the summer is more than stuffed with other blockbusters, primarily superhero movies such as Wonder Woman, Spiderman Homecoming, and other major blockbusters such as The Divergent Series: Ascendant in June. This seems like the most unlikely time, however it could happen since it appears that within the list of blockbusters 20th Century Fox has very few films coming out, and the trilogy could end on its highest note in terms of financial decisions. Or the film could be delayed to March, or overall the film could not be delayed at all, and will retain its February release date. Overall, I am very excited for The Death Cure, and I hope Dylan O'Brie will get better soon.
