Tintin in the Land of the Soviets is a memorable collection of black and white comic strips but when compared to Herge's other more memorable works, it falls short due to its visible shortcomings.

One major factor separates The Land of the Soviets from the other Tintin books. This book is entirely composed of comic strips that are black and white. This book is the only one where you can tell they are comic strips due to their abrupt transitions and story-telling, The story itself is decent but feels too repetitive. But it contains a great deal of nostalgia that makes up for it. Overall, Tintin in the Land of the Soviets is an enjoyable read that brings us back to the good old days of newspaper comic strips that unfortunately is brought down a considerable bit by a repetitive story and abrupt transitions. Score: 8.2 out of 10.
