When I first saw Man of Steel I felt a grand sense of the beginning of the golden age of DC films. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice takes that Golden Age and prepares it to become a franchise of movies that will be some of the most memorable. It introduces and sets up the Justice League films, whilst boasting a thrilling superhero tale concocted of elements from The Dark Knight Returns. Batman V Superman is a film that becomes better and more enjoyable with every moment, thanks to brilliant portrayals, a rich and thrilling plot, that all makes up to be the best film of the year so far.

First things first, what most considered to be the downfall of this film is the cast. The cast is actually some of the best in a DC movie. Henry Cavill makes a wonderful return as Superman in his portrayal of a more troubled and realized version of the red and blue alien who can fly. Gal Gadot makes a proud and bold performance as Wonder Woman with her performance being both memorable and some of the best parts about the movie. Now...Ben Affleck, the internet exploded when this casting choice was made in fury and denial. But if there's one thing everybody can agree about Batman V Superman is that Batman is Batman. He is the best portrayal of Batman, I have ever seen. Beating out Kevin Conroy, beating out Michael Keaton, beating out Christian Bale, and definitely beating out George Clooney. He is such a brutal and dark Batman, he makes every moment the best it can be. The supporting cast make the very most of their roles, with Jesse Eisenberg being a more than welcome villain, and Amy Adams rounding a well done Lois Lane.
Next is the story, the plot, like I have said before is more than worthy of being turned into a comic. It balances everything nicely, and provides enough twists and turns to satisfy the casual movie goer. The music done by Hans Zimmer and Junkie Xl provides to be the best superhero music I have ever heard. It's dark, and always fits the mood and tone. Whenever that moment would be dark, scary, funny, or thrilling. The movie starts slow at the beginning but progresses and goes at a breakneck speed until the slow and depressing ending. Overall I had the best cinematic experience when watching this movie, that experience put a large smile on my face when it began, and I left with an even bigger smile. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is a masterfully crafted superhero masterpiece that is a variety of things, a dark superhero tale, a portrayal of some of the best superhero characters, and an experience like no other superhero film ever gave me.
