HBB Reviews is hosting their first 2016 tournament, this year, for Half 1 of 2016. Today's tournament is movies and we are discussing the many superhero films that came out this year so far.

Let's begin with the nominees. So how we are doing this is by judging each film by a category, whichever film is the best in that category, we award that film a point. Whoever has the most points win the tournament, we take the top two movies to the ultimate Movie tournament for Half 1 of 2016 and the ultimate, definitive, Movie tournament in early 2017.

1. Deadpool (February 2016)

2. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 2016)

3. Captain America: Civil War (May 2016)

4. X-Men: Apocalypse (May 2016)

Round 1: Story

Winner: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Reason: All the other superhero movies this year had fairly lacking the stories, from Deadpool to X-Men Apocalypse, Civil War may have had an adaptation of the famous Marvel comic, but it didn't have too much impact on characters, Batman V Superman had a strong story from its excellent writers, and felt straight like a comic book story.

Round 2: Action

Winner: Captain America: Civil War

Reason: This was a no brainer, since the stunt team for this film was amazing, and the airport scene is in my opinion the best action sequence I have seen in my life, and when MPAA Ratings gave this film a PG-13 for mayhem, it was more than fitting.

Round 3: Humor:

Winner: Deadpool

Reason: The films this year, were overall not truly like Deadpool at all. They all had a serious tone, and while Civil War may be the lightest of between X-Men and BVS, Deadpool is flat out hilarious. In fact it's so concerned with doing the character justice, and when the movie is so centered around a character and the character is hilarious, it pulls for some of the best action comedies we've seen in a long time.

Round 4: Performances

Winner: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Reason: Ben Affleck.

Round 5: Critical Reception

Winner: Captain America: Civil War

Reason: 90% Rotten Tomatoes

Metacritic: 75
