What comes beyond the Cursed Child's release as a script? Hmm? Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie comes around, a Harry Potter spin-off film, written by J.K. Rowling herself. Let's prepare for both the Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts by reviewing the book that was a companion to the Harry Potter series and exists primarily for a good cause. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by Newt Scamander.

This book is in every definition a textbook collecting the whole of J.K. Rowling's imagination of the magical creatures. It is fascinating, being able to sink in and have these feelings of, ooh! What is this creature? And then, I wouldn't want to touch that! There is a forward by Dumbledore, an introduction by Newt Scamander, and little writing on the pages by none other than Ron Weasley with occasional comments by Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. This little writing, which could have been an annoying nuisance actually enhances, and pushes the book deeper into the magical world. The only problem is that the book is far too short. Far too short. In fact when this book was announced to be adapted into a film, I was stunned. The book is less than 90 pages! And I would have liked to see pictures or drawings of these creatures, similar to the way Riordan's Percy Jackson's Greek Gods was. Still this is a great companion book to the magical world of Harry Potter, that has great potential in the Potter community just waiting to be explored. Score: 8.7 out of 10.
