Comic-Con 2016 was huge with big titles such as Justice League, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Wonder Woman, Suicide Squad, and Doctor Strange, but it was partly a disappointment since the sequel to the Adventures of Tintin animation film in 2011 was not announced. Now after Comic-Con is over, we can speculate on where the film is today, and when we can expect to see it.

Now the last we heard about the Adventures of Tintin 2 was in 2014, when Jamie Bell said that the Christmas 2015 release date was unrealistic and scrapped for the Adventures of Tintin 2, since Peter Jackson, the director for the film, was still doing the Hobbit Trilogy, and it takes a year to do all the animation and rendering. Also we had an update on what would be next after the Adventures of Tintin 2, a third and fourth based on Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon. The final update we had was from Steven Spielberg, the producer this time around, saying that it was being written. Well, I think by this time, it's done being written, and I believe is currently in production! Peter Jackson has had no projects under his belt since the Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, so its clear that there he is doing the film, and is currently going through motion capture. However Steven Spielberg and Andy Serkis's projects lists both clash with the film. Steven Spielberg has the Halo TV Series and Transformers: The Last Knight which are both currently filming and he is either executive producer or just producer. The bottom line is we can expect a release in Christmas 2017, and if that will happen, expect some sort of teaser or image or just announcement that the Adventures of Tintin: The Prisoners of the Sun is happening! Prepare for tomorrow, the day of the midnight parties for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Special Rehearsal Edition Script!
