The Fever Code is a satisfying and fulfilling prequel that innovates upon each chapter and makes for an experience that is sure to delight fans of The Maze Runner.

The Fever Code is really the prequel that the Maze Runner canon deserves and the one it needs, unlike The Kill Order. This story actually is composed less than ten percent of action and entirely of narrative that richly builds the reasons of how the maze was built. All of the Gladers are back in the Fever Code and the book reveals some truly mind-blowing details about characters and their relationships with each other. The flaws with the Fever Code are that not all of the major questions are answered and also it seems a bit basic that the entire book is composed of chapters from Thomas' perspective with an exception of the prologue which actually feels out of place now, which is a big cause that the book is quite short only ticking in at around 300 pages. Overall, The Fever Code makes for a final experience in the Maze Runner book series that is satisfying, rich, and fulfilling. Score: 9.3 out of 10.
