Gears of War 4 is a riveting and overpowering experience that takes the best of the series' gameplay and formulates it with unquestionably the series' best story.

We haven't done a whole lot of coverage for Gears of War 4, the reboot of the franchise developed by the Coalition. This time the story focuses around J.D. Fenix, the son of Marcus Fenix. He is joined by a band of the original Gears and new allies to unravel a horrific mystery and save an ally's mother. Unlike the stories of other Gears of War games, the story is riveting and excellent. The ending, especially makes the story some of the best. No spoilers, but it is shocking and cruel. The only flaw with the story is that some of the lines and new characters feel a bit too familiar. It could be said that Kait is the Dom of the band, and Del is the Cole mixed with the Baird humor of the group. The lines themselves fit the purpose in a very mixed and sometimes extremely cheesy. The gameplay is at its peak in Gears of War 4, with new weapons and enemy types that make the game all the more challenging and varied. Unfortunately at the beginning of the game the Deebee robots unfortunately feel too over done and monotonous. But overall it is still a great game with an excellent story capped with an excellent ending, that may feel too abrupt but is memorable and emotional, and over the top gameplay that will please fans of the new and old. Score: 8.9 out of 10.
