Fantastic Beasts 26 Days: Box Office Opening Weekend Predictions

In a mere 26 days, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be in theaters! To count down the days, we will be placing our predictions on what type of numbers the film can expect on opening weekend.

To guide us on what we could possibly expect, we will be using the trailers' viewing numbers to speculate and predict. My estimate is that the film will make around 130 million dollars on opening weekend. I don't expect a 200 million dollar opening at all; but I will be surprised if it doesn't surpass 100 million dollars. The lowest opening that we can expect is probably seventy million which would be similar to the release of Doctor Strange. The reason my lowest prediction is so low is due to the fact that not many people know about it. But I have my final estimate on 130 million dollars, this could go down once the reviews start kicking in or up...who knows. The film also doesn't have much competition with the only competitors being The Edge of Seventeen, Bleed for This, and Doctor Strange which will be in its third weekend run. This gives Fantastic Beasts a lot of room to strike interest in audiences. The film has had a great TV campaign and I am sure will start to spark interest with the Harry Potter tag being thrown into the mix. That is something that I feel should have been done much sooner.
