Fantastic Beasts 19 Days: Franchise Impact/Popularity

With a mere 19 days until Fantastic Beasts rises to plate in theaters everywhere, it's time to speculate on how the five-part franchise will be received!

If we were to look on the bright side, I think we can say that the franchise will be just as popular or a little less as the original Harry Potter series. The reason I can't say that it will be more popular is due to the fact that it really doesn't have that much of an impact on the original stories and doesn't include the original trio. Also, one of the reasons that the Harry Potter series was so iconic was due to its huge first film opening. With reports saying that the film is set to open with 75 million, I'm not sure it can compete with the original series. If we were to think negatively, we could be looking at a franchise similar to The Hunger Games or The Divergent Series where it slowly lost popularity and money over time. Hopefully, the franchise won't come to that, but we always have to prepare for the worst. Even if the franchise doesn't connect well with the main stream audiences, we the hard-core fans will support the franchise with no questions asked. And the five part franchise will kick off in a mere 19 days!
