In 5 days, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will hit theaters and the original screenplay will hit store shelves! 5 days! 5 DAYS!

The original screenplay according to its online presence on online stores such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble, say the book is 304 pages long. If we look over at the Cursed Child script, the page length is 320 pages. And the play for the Cursed Child is over four hours long! Fantastic Beasts is 2 hours and 13 minutes. So why would the screenplay be so long for a film that really is only HALF of its original screenplay. The first option are the deleted scenes. But then that can only stretch to thirty minutes max, not two hours. But the deleted scenes are most likely included in the screenplay, so it will be quite interesting and fun to be able to take the screenplay on a screening of the film and pick out which scenes weren't in the movie. That's what I'm going to do on my second viewing. Now this is where things get a bit...over board, but hear me out. The term "original screenplay" really caught my eye. Studios usually hire editors to change or mix up a new screenwriter's original script. This is J.K. Rowling's screenwriting debut, but it seems she's getting all the freedom she wants, so that's perhaps where this isn't likely. But it doesn't matter, since the screenplay is pretty much guaranteed to have additional content, unless they pull off a weird formatting move. The current Rotten Tomatoes score of the film is still 100% with 24 reviews.
