Cigars of the Pharaoh is the most chilling and varied Tintin story to date that blends suspense, comedy, memorable characters, and action to create a great Tintin experience.

The story this time is much more grounded. It has much more adult themes and elements including distrust, drug activities, framing, and poison. I won't spoil or even give a slight indication of what the story is about but just know that it's much more suspenseful and intriguing. The moments and set pieces this time is much more varied and many would think that is a good thing and would make them more memorable. But oddly, these moments are not as memorable and don't have as much impact as the moments in Tintin in America did. There's also less humor as well. The art is beautifully drawn and colored again, and makes the experience so much more vivid and real. Herge's drawing style isn't unique in any spectacular fashion. It's simple and standard and expresses the story in a cartoonish feel that is both appropriate. As a whole, it makes for one of the most recognizable drawing styles in the medium. Score: 8.3 out of 10.
