The Broken Ear is a memorable experience but when compared to other Tintin stories its flaws become more than apparent.

The story this time around is a bit of a disappointment. There are less plot twists and is less memorable. The only parts that I do remember are the constant repeats of certain events that were mimicked before in other Tintin stories. Similar to previous stories, The Broken Ear acts as a symbiotic tour of distant and foreign lands. The tour is much more exhilarating than the actual story provides and the lush environments, that are brilliant illustrated, serves as the best parts of the adventure. The villains are also a step-up feeling more formidable rather than the characters that were clumsy in their work and were supposed to believed as villains. Overall, The Broken Ear is an enjoyable experience that brings some of the series' highlights to the table but also brings some of its lows.
