The long-awaited colored edition of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets is finally out. These are my first impressions of the edition.

As a collective whole, I found this colored edition to be a disappointment and a destroyer. First, the colors aren't as lush and bright as the other Tintin stories. That issue could be attributed to the different drawing styles but that leads to my biggest issue. It feels like it's overwriting the original black and white edition. It doesn't share the same sense of nostalgia and in fact feels weird and off. If you are a Tintin fan, I can't exactly recommend you pick up this colored edition, unless you really want to see how it looks with color. My final score would be a 4.8 out of 10.
