The Adventures of the Tintin: The Land of Black Gold Book Review

When compared to other solo Tintin adventures, The Land of Black Gold does so many things right, incorporating a strong and developed plot with well-done appearances of classic and nostalgic characters.

For those of us who came into The Land of Black Gold expecting Captain Haddock to play a significant role, you might be disappointed. He's definitely in the story but only becomes truly incorporated in the middle of the third act. Once again, the villains this time around base on already seen classic villains, which makes for a nice nostalgic feel. As for gripes, well, Tintin again, isn't really characterized as a particularly interesting character and remains one of the series biggest flaws. He's not really interesting, but it's understandable since the heart and focus is not on Tintin himself. Score: 8.6 out of 10.
